            As a Family Court Judge, Mr. Simeone presided over thousands of cases involving custody and visitation, paternity, child support, enforcement of child support, and domestic violence, Orders of Protection, abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, termination of paternal rights, foster care and all other Family Court issues. Many of the decisions of Judge Simeone are published and have influenced precedence in relation to New York Family Law issues.

 

            Mr. Simeone is a graduate of Albany Law School (1981). He is a member in good standing with the New York State Bar since 1981, as well as the Federal Bar, having been admitted to practice in the Eastern and Southern Districts since 1986. Mr. Simeone is currently a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association (Family Law and Matrimonial Law Committee) and the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association. He has also been a member of the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association, Columbian Lawyers Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Knights of Columbus, and the Sons of Italy.

 

 

ACHIEVEMENTS

 

As a judge, attorney, and member of the local community, Mr. Simeone has accomplished many achievements, including:

 

·      Instrumental in putting together the first Juvenile Drug Court in Suffolk County, which was one of the largest in the nation at the time he left the bench.

Mr. Simeone’s legal career has been truly remarkable and well rounded. He has been an Assistant District Attorney from 1981 to 1898, in the private practice of law from early 1989 to the end of 1990, a Law Clerk to a Supreme Court Justice handling Matrimonial, Civil, Criminal, and Guardianship cases from 1990 to 1997, a Family Court Judge from 1997 to 2007, and a Court Attorney-Referee from Jan. 1, 2008 to late February 2008 at which time he worked at the law office of Thomas K. Campagna, P.C. There, Mr. Simeone represented clients on Matrimonial, Family Court, Criminal, and Guardianship cases. Mr. Simeone now is the owner of Ed Simeone P.C. where he represents clients in Matrimonial cases (including distribution of assets, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, actions to rescind these agreements, separation agreements, etc.) and the issues of Custody and Visitation, Grandparents’ visitation, child support, maintenance, relocation, adoption, orders of protection, CPS (abuse and neglect), paternity, guardianship, Juvenile Delinquency, Persons in Need of Supervision, and any other matters involved in a divorce case or in Family Court. He also handles criminal defense cases, name change petitions, partition actions, and civil litigation. He has been acclaimed by the judiciary and his clients.
